After two years of hard work, we are pleased to announce the launch of our Kickstarter campaign for HELIO! HELIO is an ultra-efficient solar flashlight, lantern, and powerbank designed to keep the trail well lit in fron of you on your outdoor adventures. It's also great for emergency situations where you lose power, like during hurricanes and winter storms. While HELIO is itself a great product, perhaps its best feature is that each one sold will help someone in need: 100% of the profits from all sales of HELIO will be used to provide light and power to those who need it most.
We have partnered with three great nonprofits in the service of our social mission: Global Brightlight Foundation, Lalafofofo, and One Million Lights.
Global Brightlight Foundation provides practical, affordable solar energy solutions to rural communities in Peru and Guatamala that currently lack access to electricity. Makers4Good support will fund and expand their Light a Village program for families in Guatemala.
Lalafofofo is a community-based organization raising youth in rural Kilimanjaro out of poverty; and inspiring & challanging American youth to contribute to innovative, real-world, cross-national solutions. Their Light up Tanzania program, in collaboration with Last Mile and Makers4Good, provides solar-powered LED lights to Tanzanian communities living in extreme poverty and 12-hour stretches of darkness.
One Million Lights distributes thousands of solar lights yearly to people in rural communities with no access to electricity as a safe, clean, affordable alternative to kerosene lamps. Makers4Good’s and HELIO’s support for OML will provide solar lights to students in the Bopolu Distict, Gbarpolu County in Liberia. We have worked together before on this buy-one-give-one program.
Back our HELIO project today, and not only will you get a great solar light and powerbank—you'll be sharing light with others who need it. Let your adventures help others.
